About Us

Established in 1985, the Columbus Area Chapter (CAC) of the American Payroll Association (APA) is a group of payroll professionals and other interested parties whose mission is to advance the payroll profession.  We accomplish our mission through a combination of monthly meetings, training and certification opportunities (Certified Payroll Professional) and networking.

CAC membership dues are $50 per year and memberships begin on the date of registration.  Members receive automatic renewal notices prior to their membership terms expiring.  We currently have 183 members receiving our benefits of membership.

Our meetings are held six times a year on the third Thursday of the month at various locations throughout the area. We have speakers who present the latest information on payroll trends and topics.  The meeting fees are $25 for members and $35 for guests. For your convenience, we accept VISA, Master Card and American Express.  Attendance averages between 40 and 50 and the meetings provide an opportunity for education and networking.  Subject matter experts present timely topics that enhance your payroll knowledge and job performance.  Our meetings and events provide Recertification Credit Hours (RCH's) for both CPP and FPC certified professionals; over sixty percent of our membership is certified.

CAC members represent a cross section of area employers including local governments, colleges, banks, insurance companies, health care, manufacturers, not for profits, and service providers.  Members represent over 80 different companies across 30 different industries.  They represent
small to large sized companies throughout the Columbus area.

CAC members have received numerous awards and recognitions since our inception.  They have served and been recognized at both the state and national level.  We also take pride in our charitable efforts put forth through our Community Outreach.

We are an independent chapter of the American Payroll Association (APA) Membership in our chapter does not entitle members to any benefits offered by the APA.  The education, networking and fun makes this an invaluable membership!  If you do not find all the information you are looking for on our web site, please feel free to contact us for more information.

We believe the low cost of membership will provide a high return on your investment.
